April Newsletter

News

Our April newsletter is here. The weather is changing quickly chasing lots of changes in the fishing world. Lake Superior is getting close to opening up for the spring shallow trout and salmon bites. Also, along the Canadian boarder the Rainy River is starting to open which is one of the best walleye bites in the world during the spring catch and release season. Ice Houses are off the ice and tons of anglers are getting those boats and long rods ready. We too have some spring changes that we would like to announce.

Changes to the Site

We are changing the way we do business. No more guest fees. We are going to a simple, straight forward, freedom-loving approach. Control is being turned over to our Hosts. Our Hosts will be charged a small membership fee to advertise with our site and that is all the fees that RTS charges. No more 12% reservation fee.

A few service changes will occur in our new format. One of these changes is that we are just advertising the listings. All the services that we offer on our website will be free and included with every Host property listing. Our online calendar, booking, messaging, and other services will be at the discretion of our hosts to utilize.

Fee Structure

Our Hosting Fees will be straight forward. During the listing process our Hosts will be allowed to decide which option will work best for their own needs. Choose between our three packages, basic, featured, or multiple listings. Hosts will also be allowed to choose to pay monthly, or yearly. Check out the new pricing here.

Terms and Conditions

Our terms and conditions have also changed. We have streamlined, simplified, and made them more freedom-loving in general. Please read through our changes here.

Fishing News and Tips

#1 Northwest Sportshow

We went down to Minneapolis in March to look around the Northwest Sportshow. Lots to see, boats, docks, tackle, reels, rods, resorts, trips, and much more. One of the most interesting things that we ran across was the MN-Fish Sportfishing Foundation and Coalition. It was started by most of the big names in the freshwater fishing world. Their main goal is to provide a voice for the anglers of Minnesota. They want to improve fishing by making sure our elected representatives don’t reroute the funds. It is a great cause, check them out at https://mn-fish.com/.

#2 Catch Your Moment Foundation

Also, ran across the Catch Your Moment booth at the Northwest Sportshow. They are dedicated anglers that take those touched by cancer fishing. Go over to their site and support this cause at catchyourmoment.org.

#3 Boating Season, Prepare NOW

It is that season to clean up the ice fishing gear, store it away and get that boat ready for the first waves. All Eyes and Fishing did a good podcast on what to do to get ready for the season.
